Digital artists can mint NFTs on the Polygon blockchain, by using the most popular NFT
marketplace, OpenSea. To register an account and begin buying or selling NFTs on OpenSea,
you’ll require three things.
Cryptocurrency (ETH):
A digital currency exchange like Coinbase can provide you with ETH, the digital money that
powers transactions on the Ethereum network. To ‘mint’ an NFT, purchase an NFT, and execute
transactions, you’ll need ETH.
Therefore, on etherscan.io, you may see all transactions associated with your wallet address. It’s
a good idea to double-check Etherscan after each transaction.
Wallet for Cryptocurrency:
MetaMask, is a cryptocurrency wallet that saves your ETH and performs transactions on the
Ethereum network. You will be given a unique wallet address, which you will use to execute
transactions.
Why is it necessary to have a wallet before buying or selling on OpenSea?
Another programme you can use to connect with the blockchain is OpenSea. We never take
control of your belongings or keep your NFTs on our servers. Instead, we offer a peer-to-peer
exchange system. Because you’ll be using OpenSea to communicate with others on the
blockchain directly, you’ll need a wallet to assist you to convert your browser actions into
blockchain transactions.
Once you have a crypto wallet installed, you can connect your wallet address to OpenSea.
OpenSea
You can get started by connecting your wallet to OpenSea, editing your profile, and communicating with others in the space. When you get to the platform, pick “Profile” from the top-right profile icon.
After that, you’ll be asked to connect your wallet. You’ll go through a series of steps before arriving at the connection screen. You’re almost done when you notice “Connecting” OpenSea to your wallet.
Your account will be set to “Unnamed” by default, with simply your wallet address displayed
below.
Select the gear icon on the right side of the screen to personalize your account. You will be presented with an additional security prompt; select “Sign” to begin updating your profile.
